OUR VALUES
Aurora Power Washing is proud to use eco-friendly solutions with powerful equipment that thoroughly cleans surfaces without damaging them
How does it work?
soft washing
We call it Power washing because it sounds cool but technically it's called Soft Washing.
Soft washing is a cleaning method used to clean delicate surfaces, particularly on buildings and roofs, without causing damage.
It's different than pressure washing, which can be too harsh for certain materials.
Soft washing relies on low-pressure techniques and specialized cleaning solutions to remove dirt, grime, algae, mold, and mildew.
1. Low Pressure
Soft washing uses low-pressure water spray, usually not exceeding 500 PSI (pounds per square inch). This low pressure ensures that delicate surfaces like roofs and sidings aren't damaged during the cleaning process.
2. Specialized Cleaning Solutions
Soft washing involves the use of biodegradable and environmentally friendly cleaning solutions. These solutions often contain surfactants, bleach, water, and other chemicals designed to kill algae, mold, mildew, and other contaminants. The chemicals do the heavy lifting, so low pressure can be used.
3. Application and Dwell Time
The cleaning solution is applied to the surface using low pressure. It's important to let the solution dwell on the surface for some time, allowing it to break down the contaminants effectively.
4. Rinsing
After the cleaning solution has had sufficient dwell time, the surface is rinsed with low-pressure water to wash away the dirt, grime, and dead contaminants. This step is important to ensure that no residue is left behind.
5. Safety Measures
We typically wear protective gear, such as gloves and goggles, to avoid direct contact with the cleaning solutions. Additionally, precautions are taken to prevent the solution from entering storm drains or harming nearby plants and animals.
